Pain is inevitable, suffering is not.
I’m Ade Robson with over twenty years of practise as a soft tissue therapist, Acupuncturist and Person-centred Counsellor, offering a thoughtful and effective approach to wellbeing that recognises the deep connection between our mind & body.

Soft Tissue Therapy & Acupuncture
My bodywork practice led me to train as a counsellor, allowing me to support people not only through hands-on treatment but also through thoughtful therapeutic conversation.
My counselling work is person-centred and collaborative. I aim to provide a calm, respectful space where people feel able to speak openly about what they are experiencing. Some clients come to therapy with a clear issue they want to explore, while others arrive with a general sense that something in their life needs attention or understanding.
Sessions move at a pace that feels comfortable, and there is no expectation to talk about anything before you feel ready. Because of my background in bodywork, I also have a strong interest in somatic awareness — paying attention to how emotions and experiences can be reflected in the body. This can sometimes help people reconnect with feelings that may have become difficult to access or express.
Today my work combines these two areas, offering a thoughtful approach that recognises the relationship between mind & body and our felt sense of emotional, mental and physical aspects of our lived experience and how we navigate our world internally and externally.
I work with people seeking help with physical pain, injury, stress and emotional & mental health life challenges. My professional background brings together two areas of practice: Soft tissue therapy and Person-centred Counselling.

Our physical and emotional lives are closely connected.
Many people notice that stress, pressure or difficult life experiences begin to show up in the body as tension, fatigue or pain. Tight shoulders, headaches, back pain or a general feeling of being physically “wound up” can often be linked to the way our nervous system responds to stress.
At the same time, living with ongoing physical pain or injury can affect how we feel emotionally, influencing mood, confidence and overall wellbeing.
Through many years of working with people, I have seen how these two aspects of experience often influence one another.
Because of my background in both soft tissue therapy and counselling, my work takes this connection into account. Sometimes support is needed through conversation and emotional exploration, and at other times through practical work with the body.
Often the most helpful approach is one that recognises both.
By paying attention to the relationship between body and mind, therapy can support people in developing a greater sense of balance, awareness and wellbeing.

I work with clients experiencing a wide range of physical and mental & emotional challenges, including:
• chronic muscular pain
• sports injuries
• work-related physical strain
• stress and tension in the body bringing about nervous system overload and burnout.
• anxiety or emotional overwhelm often due to lack of safety and uncertainty.
• life transitions and personal difficulties such as loss, grief and relational trauma.
Sometimes people simply feel that something in their life needs attention or support and want a space to explore that.
Over the past two decades I have worked with people facing many different challenges, including:
• chronic physical pain and injury
• stress and anxiety.
• grief and loss
• relationship difficulties
• major life transitions
• emotional overwhelm.
Clients often describe my approach as calm, thoughtful and supportive, with many appreciating the combination of practical knowledge of the body and a reflective counselling space.

What continues to inspire me about this work is the opportunity to support people during times when life feels difficult or uncertain.
Sometimes that involves helping someone recover from physical pain or injury. At other times it involves offering a space where someone can speak openly about what they are going through and begin to make sense of it.
Pain, suffering and traumatic events and circumstances can show up in many ways and are in part, part of life which can be messy, uncertain and sometimes cruel and unkind. With my own battle with head and neck cancer and the continuing challenges it brings like many of us, we have and will all, at some point encounter and come face to face with our own challenges which can shape, define, contort but also prove positive transitional and life affirming sense of self and direction in relation to ourselves and those around us.
I believe that when people feel properly listened to, understood and supported, meaningful change can begin to happen but it can often be a slow and winding road, at times but along with that comes a real sense of hope, understanding and purpose on our journey of life.
